A review of optical electronic equipment for quality control of weaving and beam preparation highlights the Lasertop 4080 laser light barrier system, Camscan II digital yarn counter, and Warpstop yarn inspection system. The Lasertop 4080 includes a light source, primarily a diole laser, and a receiver. This system accurately detects yarn breakage in the front or back shed position, capillary breakage in fabric, and single slub yarns. The Camscan II uses one or more CCD cameras to monitor yarn count and compares its recorded data with the preset order. The Warpstop unit monitors slubs, broken filaments, knots, and thick places. The modified Duo-Warpstop integrates with warping and draw warping machines and monitors yarn at high speeds.
