Replacing the side weft motion of a nonautomatic loom with a center weft form motion reduces such fabric defects as broken patterns and double or missing picks. The center weft cam is fixed on the bottom shaft cone end of the connecting rod. The center weft form motion comprises cam, feler, solenoid, and stop motions. The spring tension should be adjusted so that the feeler does not press the filling yarn present in the cavity. Fabrics manufactured on upgraded nonautomatic looms have a similar number of defects as fabrics manufactured on power looms.
