A dynamic drape testing machine with a moving image processing system characterized the swinging track, velocity, and acceleration of a fabric during turnaround. The image processing system revealed parameters that elucidated dynamic fabric drape properties; gave different information than such conventional parameters as static drape coefficient, revolving drape increase coefficient, information than such conventional parameters as static drape coefficient, revolving drape increase coefficient, revolving drape coefficient at 200 rpm, and dynamic drape coefficient; and correlated drape with fabric bending and shearing vibrational properties and subjective values focusing on perceived beauty. 16 refs.
