Researchers designed a filling yarn transport system with yarn guides that achieves high quality reinforcing constructions, a long service life, optimal yarn tension without yarn damage, short set up times, and automatic yarn tension correction while the machine is running. Intermediate plates joined to chain links instead of base plates support each other and generate a pushing action in the leading run section and a pulling action in the return section. Chain tension maintains optimal compression tension values regardless of fabric type. Positioning of roll chain and the intermediate plates prevents overcompensation. An adjustment mechanism above the yarn guides allow the guides to slide in two directions. 2 refs.
