The effects of air-conditioning on the success of production in a modern high-performance weaving mill is discussed with the required profile specified. Luwa's solution with loon all-conditioning offers a considerable improvement compared with conventional air-conditioning plants. The exhaust air Is put under the weaving machine and one part of the warm air and fibre fly and dust is therefore directly channelled into the exhaust Producing energy savings of approximately 20%. Luwa's combi- and machine climate concepts are explained with energy savings or up to 50% possible. The company's Quality Assurance System (QAS), in operation since 1991, has ISO 9001 certification. They are now focusing on transforming the QAS into a quality management system moving in the direction of Total Quality Management (TOM), and the company strategy is based on the mixture of TQM and the requirements of the ISO 9001, supporting employee development and optimising working processes.
