FIT and International Linens Production's major exhibit at The Museum at FIT celebrated linen as the oldest known fabric, and featured home furnishing dating back to the 17th century. Linen is experiencing a new surge in popularity. The exhibit highlighted the natural versatility and broad range of uses of linen. Highlights included a damask linen napkin from 17th century Netherlands, 18th century decorative fabrics by F. Shumacher, a cherub print by Scalamandre from the Hearst estate, several different 19th century table lines by Anichine, and a Clarence House linen/cotton velvet blend.
